Abstract of the talk:

豪恣想法开头发端自体裁，然而在音乐上头的发展，却要晚于体裁。联系词，豪恣“Romantic”这个词，发源于拉丁语系中的罗曼语。这个词的意旨兴味，其实是：“和试验不近交流的念念象全国”。那么豪恣想法音乐在西方艺术史上占有垂危的地位，亦然东说念主类艺术发展史上的垂危篇章。在本次的讲座中，我将引颈人人从豪恣想法音乐的发源开动，历经豪恣想法初期，中期以及晚期的作曲家们以及他们的垂危作品，从音乐演奏者的角度，谈谈这段工夫的音乐和趣事。

About Speaker:

Dr. Fanqin Meng currently works as an Assistant Professor of Music at UIC. She obtained her Doctor of Music and Arts degree at the University of Wisconsin Madison  in 2016. She has performed as a soloist since 2005 when she attended Central Conservatory of Music and got her bachelor’s degree. Dr. Meng’s performances are outstanding and virtuosic. She has played personal recitals in both China and the USA. From 2015 to 2016, Meng worked with Professor Chen Yi (a famous composer who was elected to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences in 2005) on a dissertation and the first recording of her viola concerto, Xian shi, in North America.
